We arrived on Friday night to a building already open and hot water ready for drinks before bed.

After breakfast on Saturday we joined forces with some Scouts from the .. ………………. 26th Shrewsbury and went in the mini bus to Carding Mill Valley at Church Stretton to start our walk.

It was a fine day and we joined other walkers and bikers on the Long Mynd.
Map reading skills were used to navigate to Pole Bank with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. Thanks to Peter’s qualifications we were able to go the extra 16 m to Pole Bank at 516m above sea level. (We are normally restricted to a maximum of 500m.)
We followed the stream down Minton Batch back to the Long Mynd Adventure Camp.

The evening was spent preparing cooking and consuming Pizza, Fish cakes, Paprika chicken – not forgetting the chocolate moose. It was put in the freezer to chill but was left too long. After chipping it off the bowl in a large block you could eat it like ice cream.

On Sunday we went by Mini bus to Highley on the River Severn, which also has a Severn Valley Railway Station.
After a walk to Hampton Loade we caught the train back to Highley and then by minibus back to the HQ arriving only about 10 minutes later than planned.
