2011.12.22 CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM THE COUNTY COMMISSIONER

Hello Leaders, helpers, supporters and members.

As our thoughts turn towards the holiday season I hope you are enjoying the opportunity for some winter walks or maybe being tucked up in the warm, enjoying this festive time of year.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for the brilliant work you have all done again in supporting Cambridgeshire Scouting during 2011.
This year has been another great year for Scouting in the County with some fantastic activities. It was great to see so many of you at events including CamJam, the Cub Challenge days, the Top Awards and numerous camps, events and meetings. Once again a growing movement with more activities and awards than ever.

Young people and adults alike are seeing the amazing work you are doing and more are continuing to join us in significant numbers. Christmas is also a time to think of those less fortunate than ourselves and I am sure that the Scouting spirit will ensure that we will all play our part.

As I step down at the end of the year I would like to thank you all for your hard work, dedication and support during my time as County Commissioner – a role I have felt privileged and honoured to hold. And I would just like to wish you and your families well, enjoy the magic of Christmas and have a very Happy New Year.

Yours in Scouting

Richard Hames
County Commissioner
